SECTION 1: Membership Categories
Membership in this organization shall consist of the following categories:
 Active Membership

 New Membership

Conditions, rights, and responsibilities of each member category are defined in the corresponding sections below.
Membership in this organization shall be open to all interested adult persons (18 years of age or older) who meet
the requirements for membership in the category they seek. There shall be no discrimination of membership on
the basis of race, religion, national origin, ethnicity, gender, marital status, citizenship, sexual orientation, or
disability.

Children are welcome as guests at club events and activities but must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all
times. The parent or guardian must be an Active Member of OKILUG.

SECTION 2: Active Membership

Active Members shall have full voting privileges at OKILUG meetings and access to all club benefits.
Active Members include all individuals who have met the following criteria:
1. Are at least eighteen (18) years old.
2. Have attended four (4) meetings (in person or virtually) within a twelve (12) month period.
3. Have participated in an OKILUG show or activity as approved by the Executive Board.
4. Have paid their annual dues.
5. Have reviewed, signed, and agreed to abide by these OKILUG Bylaws

To maintain Active Member status with OKILUG, individuals must attend a minimum of four (4) club meetings
(in person or virtually) per year and participate in OKILUG shows and activities as approved by the Executive
Board. Active Members are required to pay annual dues within the second quarter (October - December) of each
fiscal year. The Executive Board will determine the annual dues amount within the first quarter (July – September)
of each fiscal year. Special accommodations for Active Membership may be granted by the Executive Board.
Active Membership status and associated privileges may be restricted, suspended, or revoked by Sanctions
imposed as a result of violations of the Membership Code of Conduct of Article 4, Section 6. or an individual’s
failure to maintain requirements for Active Membership. An Active Member is considered to be in good standing
unless currently subject to Sanction.

SECTION 3: Support Membership

Support Membership is open to all persons eighteen (18) years of age and older who wish to aid in OKILUG
activities on an ad hoc or selective basis but who are uninterested in achieving the requirements for Active
Membership. All Support Members must be sponsored by an Active Member (typically, a family member or
friend) through whom they maintain their affiliation with OKILUG.
The Executive Board may impose a cap on the number of Support Members sponsored by Active Members. All
Support Membership requests must be approved by the Executive Board.
Support Members shall be welcome to attend OKILUG meetings. However, they shall not have voting rights and
shall have only restricted club benefits as determined by the Executive Board. While a list of Support Members’
names will be maintained, they shall not be placed on the OKILUG email list.
Support Membership status and associated privileges may be restricted, suspended, or revoked by Sanctions
imposed as a result of violations of the Membership Code of Conduct of Article 4, Section 6.

SECTION 4: New Membership

New Membership includes any individual over the age of eighteen (18) who is seeking Active Membership in
OKILUG but has yet to fulfill all criteria listed in Article 4, Section 2 for obtaining that status.
Once a New Member believes they have achieved the requirements to become an Active Member, they must
inform the club secretary. The Secretary will verify all requirements have been met and announce that individual’s
status change to Active Membership at the next club meeting.
New Members are welcome to attend OKILUG meetings. However, they shall not have voting rights and shall
have only restricted club benefits as determined by the Executive Board.
New Membership status and associated privileges may be restricted, suspended, or revoked by Sanctions imposed
as a result of violations of the Membership Code of Conduct of Article 4, Section 6.

SECTION 5: Voting
Only Active Members have the right to vote at meetings. Support Members and New Members are not eligible to
vote. Unless otherwise noted by these bylaws, a simple majority vote of 50% plus one (1) of members present
shall decide any issue.

See DUTIES OF OFFICERS for President’s restriction of voting.
